LICKING REGIONAL WATER DISTRICT

ABOUT US

The Licking Regional Water District (LRWD), established in 1989, was created to address environmental pollution challenges in Etna Township, Harrison Township, and Lima Township (now the City of Pataskala). Today, LRWD provides centralized water and wastewater services to a diverse clientele, including residential, commercial, and industrial users across several areas in Licking County, such as Jersey, Etna, Harrison, and Union townships, as well as the City of Pataskala. Currently serving over 6,700 water customers and more than 7,000 wastewater customers, the District has experienced rapid growth since its inception, with projections indicating continued expansion in the years ahead.

LRWD plays a pivotal role in supporting the region’s growth, particularly with significant developments anticipated due to the Intel semiconductor facility. For over a decade, the District has partnered strategically with the Licking County Commissioners to drive development along the State Route 161 Corridor. Additionally, LRWD has collaborated with municipalities and townships to ensure sustainable and strategic infrastructure expansion throughout the region.

Sustainability is at the core of LRWD’s mission. The District invests in advanced technology and infrastructure upgrades to address challenges such as agricultural runoff and aging systems, ensuring the highest environmental standards are maintained.
